So here I am posting my very first blog. I have been trying to experiment with different ways to let friends know of the new things I have been doing and I thought I'd give this a try. Many of you know that I have been creating different types of jewelry for the last several years. I started out making presents for friends, which then turned into a jewelry line at a bridal shop and presently I've been working on more casual everyday pieces for my etsy store. A couple of years back I saw this idea for turning old Scrabble pieces into pendants for a necklace by decoupaging georgous papers on them. Since I am a person who gets easily distracted by new and exciting ideas I started creating these scrabble pendants and before I realized I had made almost a hundred scrabbles. I have sold many of them at my children's school fundraisers but seem to keep adding to my surplus when I am inspired by new beautiful papers I see. Again, this seems to happen since I am a distractable artist and enjoy the creation of my pieces more than the actually photograhing and selling of them. Well a couple of weeks back a friend asked for a couple of custom pieces she wanted to purchase as presents for others. I had finished the pendants and was evaluting my work and thought...they need a little something extra. I dug into my tresure chest of beads and added some Swarovski (BTW-my fave!) bobbles to give them a little bling. They looked fabulous! Then I look back at my old Scrabble pendants I have laying around and all the sudden these little tiles which I previously thought were so precious now look so PLAIN. So here I am again revamping my whole idea...Here's some pics of a couple of the necklaces I have done so far.
And of course thats not it...as I am going thru my stash of scrabbles I see a theme. Several "Paris" themed tiles, some "Mermaid" themed tiles and so forth. So what am I inspired to make? Charm bracelets of course! I have a couple in the works so keep checking back for pics as soon as they're done. Thanks for taking the time to read. Take Care!.............................M
