Yummmmmmmmmm!

Ok so I went to a local baking supply store last weekend with my kids...we were looking for an anchor shaped cookie cutter to use to cut out rice krispy treats with. We're browsing through this new-to-me shop with all sorts of new gadgets and "goodies" to get creative with in a whole new way.

"Oh this is going to be bad for my wallet!"

Of course, just as we are about to leave we go by one last shelf with books on it AND.... I'm HOOKED! A little book titled Cake Pops catches my eye. You see, I've been in amazement of these tiny treats since I first saw them at our local favorite coffee-chain that starts with an "S". I had never had one yet but every time I see someone walking away with a cake pop I hear Ooo's and Aaa's and "these are so good". What grabs me more about them is how CUTE they are!

My daughter and I start flipping through the pages and in no time all you can hear from us are Ooo's and Aaa's with lots of "Oh my goodness, look at this one!" I even caught a fellow shopper smiling and giggling over the ruckus we are making. My son even threw in a couple Cool's and "We've gotta do those one's mom!" Hey, they asked...how can I deprive my little darlings!!

Needless to say, we did not leave with the $5 cookie cutter and did leave with most of the supplies for.....drum roll please... CAKE POPS! (I won't mention how much I spent just in case my husband ever reads this) That was Saturday morning and I spent the remaining free time I had Saturday, Sunday, AND Monday morning baking, rolling and dipping these darling little treats. I took them to two different going-away parties and to a dear friend who recently had surgery... and they were a hit! I had a blast making them and I'm sure they'll turn up at many future gatherings I attend. By the way... they are DELICIOUS! (Even though my hubby thinks they are a lot of work for just a couple bits of cake)

VOILA!

Dark Fairytale

This beautiful altered composition notebook is covered in stunning color coordinated papers (inside & outside). When I began designing this journal the patterns and prints reminded me of an ancient fairytale in black and white film and yet still having a contemporary flare.

Mediterranean Sunset

I love this journal with it's rust, teal and brown color scheme. It is rather simple in design but the papers used also have such a majestic feel.

Gray Mood!

Well I suppose I can credit some of the inspiration for these items to the gloomy, rainy, COLD week we had last week! These fingerless gloves are adorned with gray felt flowers that have been needle-felted into place and accented with dark gray swarovski pearls...very delicate and pretty. They are actually the second pair I made. The person who bought the first pair purchased them for her daughter who lives in S.F.. She loved them so much she almost couldn't give them away so she ordered a set for herself. (My kind of thinking! Us moms have to treat ourselves sometimes too!!) Underneath you'll see the glimmerings of a journal that was in the works... and is now completed (to be listed on ETSY soon). I saw these great gray houndstooth papers and just had to have them. It now has a ribbon closure as well as a bookmark, and a few more things to make it special. Enjoy!
